Why Other People's Opinions Don't Matter

Let's get the facts straight here: every single person you have ever met in your lifetime has created some sort of opinion of you. In their eyes you are funny, or not so funny, beautiful or not so beautiful, enjoyable or not so enjoyable.

Despite our best efforts to act in a way that everyone will enjoy our presence, it simply isn't in the cards. People have different tastes, and we can't be everything to everyone.

The problem with this is we all spend so much valuable time and energy worrying about whether or not someone is going to judge us. Whether they will like us or not. And I'm here to tell you that it is none of your business.

Check out my latest video blog for more on this topic:

People's opinions of you do not make a lick of difference to your worth. Your worth is not determined by how other people perceive you. The only opinion of you that matters is the one between your own ears.

Recognize how amazing you are. You are a one-of-a-kind, and you bring something beautiful and unique to the situation, so stop wasting your effort transforming like a chameleon in hopes that everyone will like you. Because it won't happen.

But so long as YOU like you, it doesn't matter. At the end of the day, people come and go, but we are stuck with ourselves for the long haul. So develop a healthy and loving relationship with yourself, and when other people don't dig your vibes, realize that there is still nothing wrong with you.

Not everyone needs to be bffs, there are all different strokes for different folks, and when you truly cherish yourself for all the awesome-ness that you are, other people's acceptance of you becomes less important.

People can come and go in your life, but you'll always have your own back. That brings a special kind of love and power that will guide you on your way forever.

Sending you love, light, and self-acceptance,
-L.K.
