The One Habit You Need For Fitness Results

2/8/2016

I get a lot of questions every day about fitness.
How do I get fit? Where do I start? How can I make it easier?

In my experience, DIET is responsible for 80-90% of my fitness results. Every damn time. I can go to the gym every day, even twice a day, but if my diet isn't on point, my results aren't coming.

Staying on a diet is tough, but it's wayyyyy easier when you have prepared yourself for success.

Food prep is the most important thing I can share with you on your journey to a healthier life.

It keeps you on track, it sets your intention for the week, and it gives you a no-brainer meal system that makes it much simpler to stick to the intended game plan.

Rather than thinking "what should I cook tonight?" you can have all your meals prepared in advance, and they are individually portioned into Tupperware containers. So when it's meal time, pull one meal out, pop it in the microwave and you're good to go. Bring your meals to work with you to keep you on track even when you're on duty.

To all my fit moms, you may still have to make your family meals, but this way you can stay on the diet that YOU want for you goals, and it'll be as easy as microwaving it and joining the family for dinner. Rather than making something the family will eat, and destroying your progress as you join them.

L.K.'s typical food prep. Prepared in 15 minutes (cook time: 45 mins)
We all know that snacking occurs when we are hungry and lazy and having these meals prepared in advance, you take away the risk of taking down a bag of chips instead of your healthy portion wise meal.

It takes out the temptation. It drowns out the excuses. It's a proactive measure that will pay enormous dividends towards your healthy lifestyle. Stop throwing your workouts out the window with an inconsistent diet.

I cannot emphasize the importance of meal preparation enough. If you are not managing your intake of food in a day, you are not setting yourself up for fitness success.

Some say it's too much effort. Bull. Some say it's too time consuming. Untrue. I'm going to share with you my "15 Minute Food Prep" where you can prepare a whole week's worth of meals in 15 minutes.
I hope this video has made you realize that living a fit lifestyle doesn't have to be tedious, time consuming and inconvenient. A failure to plan, is a plan to fail. Make the most of your journey to wellness, by preparing your food and making your intentions clear.

This is your year. You can do this. Let's stay on track and make some serious progress!

Be sure to post comments below if you have questions, and I'll feature them in a future blog.

Sending you love, light, and good habits for your fitness journey,
-L.K.

PS - if you are unclear on how much food (calories) you should be eating in a day, I always recommend taking a look at a IIFYM calculator (click here) to get a general idea of a starting point. From there you can portion out your meals and hit the ground running!
