Struggling with stress
Who’s going through some shit right now?

And who is trying their very best to be positive about it? Good. I’m proud of you.

I’m all about a positive mindset, and although we require massive action to make thing happen in life, I believe positivity and acceptance is the foundation for our fabulous comebacks.

About this time last year I had no idea I was but a few weeks away from surviving Canada’s worst natural disaster in history. How could anyone expect a drastic plot twist like that in their lives?

The truth is I struggled because I felt as a “self help author” I should be positive in any situation. Even when my hometown was burning down. When in reality, my faith was simultaneously burning down alongside the wildfires.

All I did was run. Evacuated far away from home, I got up every day and ran as far as my legs would take me, then I’d run mentally as far as I could from the emotions I was experiencing. I didn’t want to meditate. I didn’t want to write. I didn’t want to do much, except act like everything was ok, of course.

But sometimes things aren’t ok, and we aren’t ok, and I’m here to tell you - THAT is ok.

Life is the ultimate personal trainer. The moment we think we’ve had enough and couldn’t possibly take anymore, life says “Oh we’ve just begun!”

We will experience heartbreak, fears, doubts and insecurities, and I’m here to tell you THAT is ok too.

As spiritual beings living in a human world, overcoming disasters comes with the territory.

The main objective of life is to grow and evolve, into the best versions of ourselves.

This does not happen when life goes our way all the time.

Remember our Spiritual Squats? 

Every time life knocks us down on our asses and we get back up: that’s a spiritual squat. And we are getting stronger, wiser and better for it. We are building our spiritual booty. 

Hell yes it burns like a MF, it’s uncomfortable, but strength is only developed by resistance and by us being pushed far beyond our comfort zones.

So whatever it is you’re going through, whatever obstacle is in your way, no matter the disaster you are facing, know this:

You can do this.
You were born to do this.
You were assigned this mountain to show others it can be moved.

Your life is so much more than what you do, it’s what you inspire other people to do through your actions. You may not realize it but you are a role model to everyone around you. This is your time to shine in the darkness.

A setback is but a setup for a comeback, and you are just the person for the job.
Believe in yourself, stay positive, and be honest with yourself.

It’s ok to not be okay all the time.

Lean on those you love, and love yourself so hard through the process.

This too shall pass, and you will be stronger for it, I promise.
